Facebook is once again sorry for violating your privacy once again

I hate to be the guy to say “I told you so,” but I’m going to do it anyway.

We learned yesterday that Facebook had rolled out yet another privacy violation — automatic facial recognition technology that would tag you in pictures you didn’t know about — without telling anyone.

I wrote this:

Every four months, it seems, the company changes a setting for 500 million people, doesn’t tell them, and then takes a PR beating when everyone finds out.

Well, I was right.  Facebook is backpedaling today.
