Music legend Willie Nelson has been fined $500 and pleaded no contest to misdemeanor possession of drug paraphenalia, Fox and TMZ say.

The 78-year-old country music singer and unrepentant stoner had been charged with marijuana possession last November when his tour bus was stopped at a Border Patrol checkpoint on Interstate 10 in Sierra Blanca, which is in Hudspeth County and effectively the middle of nowhere.

“Willie is glad to have it all behind him. Everyone was very fair,” his lawyer Joe Turner told TMZ.
